Ingredients
- 500 g beef mince
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
- Salt and pepper
For the sauce
- 1 tin (400 g) chopped tomatoes
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander
Method
- Mix mince with grated onion, garlic, spices, herbs, salt and pepper. Roll into 20-24 small balls.
- Brown the meatballs in a wide pan for 5 minutes. Remove.
- In the same pan, soften the sliced onion for 5 minutes. Add garlic, spices, tomato purée, tomatoes.
- Return meatballs to the pan. Simmer covered for 20 minutes.
- Scatter fresh coriander on top. Serve with crusty bread or couscous.
